Bishop Ronald J. Hoston, Jurisdiction Prelate (Emeritus), founded the New York Central Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God In Christ in 2007 and established it in 2008, where the headquarters was located in Syracuse, New York. God blessed Bishop Hoston with wisdom, acumen, and historical church knowledge. Bishop Hoston is married to the gifted and talented Lady Jennifer Hoston also known as “Lady J.” 

Serving as his first Jurisdictional Supervisor of the Department of Women was the late Mother Princeola Jones of Syracuse, New York from 2008 to 2015. Mother Jones always stated, “I Belong to the People.” After the emerita of Mother Princeola Jones, Assistant Supervisor Mother Saundra L. Reed (Admin. Assist. Kenneth Reed) of Syracuse, New York was appointed to Jurisdictional Supervisor of the Department of Women in 2016. Certainly, Mother Saundra L. Reed has a fire for God and a passion for women and souls. In 2021 after the emeritus of Bishop Ronald J. Hoston, God blessed New York Central Jurisdiction with the empowering and anointed Bishop Michael E. Hill, Sr., (Michigan) as Interim Prelate for the New York Central Jurisdiction. Bishop Hill is married to the beautiful Elect Lady Pearl Hill. Bishop Michael E. Hill served the New York Central Jurisdiction with great passion and diligence until 2023. 

Thereafter, God blessed New York Central Jurisdiction once again, with Bishop James H. Bowman, Sr., of Buffalo, New York. Bishop James H. Bowman, Sr., is married to Elect Lady, Dr. Katheryn Bowman, a woman of great wisdom and grace. In November 2024 God elevated Bishop James H. Bowman, Sr., to the Episcopal Office, as Prelate of the New York Central Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church Of God In Christ. Bishop James H. Bowman, Sr., is a visionary and psalmist, who has a heart of compassion for all people and an allegiance of respect for leaders. Truly, God has preserved Bishop James H. Bowman, Sr., for such a time as this. In addition, in November 2024 God elevated District Missionary Cynthia A. Benning to Assistant Supervisor (Admin. Assist., Dr. Daniel Benning) of Buffalo, New York to the New York Central Jurisdiction Department of Women. Assistant Supervisor Cynthia A. Benning is a gifted singer, who has a phenomenal passion for giving and Outreach Ministry.

New York Central Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction C.O.G.I.C., Inc. is a growing, blessed Jurisdiction poised to continue achieving great feats in ministry.  If The Lord delays His coming, New York Central Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction has more history to be made in front of us than we do behind us.
